Analysis of the Cleansing Action of Different Brands of Detergent using Randomized Complete Block Design. – I. E. Egong and O. O. Inah
This paper aims at identifying the cleansing effect of different brands of detergent using different kinds of water and the existence of blocking caused by the; kinds of water used. Primary data were used. The data were analysed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) method, under the design called “Randomized complete block design (RCBD)”. The result of the analysis showed that the detergents under consideration (OMO, KLIN, ARIEL and BRYTEX) are significantly similar in their cleansing effect when used with three of the water kinds under consideration (STREAM WATER, BOREHOLE WATER and PIPE-BORN WATER) while one of the water kinds (RAIN WATER) when used with the above mentioned detergents showed significant difference. It was therefore concluded that OMO, KLIN, ARIEL and BRYTEX when used with Pipe-born water, Stream water and Borehole water cleansed faster than when detergents are used with rain watery Thus, rain water can be considered as an alternative water kind for washing; the result proved the existence of blocking and it effectiveness.
